OPP suits fruit and veg, bakery, confectionery and snacks, where clarity and gloss carry the pack on the shelf. PE suits frozen foods, bread, bulk powders and printed retail, where seal strength and a clear route to recycled content matter more. This page is a quick guide, not a full spec sheet: compare OPP against PE below, read the short which-route guide, then follow one of the two routes to the detailed sub-page. OPP versus PE is an either-or choice, not a bundle, so pick one family per product rather than expecting to combine both.
Need a tight shrink fit, not a flow wrap? If your line needs a tight shrink fit rather than a flow wrap, for example produce, cheese or poultry, see the separate shrink films and POF page instead: POF shrink films.

Follow your route

OPP flow wrap films
OPP flow wrap for clarity, anti-fog and perforation, ideal for fruit and veg, bakery, confectionery and snacks. The clarity choice when gloss and shelf presentation carry the pack, with micro or macro perforation available for fresh produce.

PE flow wrap films
PE flow wrap for print, high seal strength, PCR-friendly structures and freezer-ready packs, for frozen, bread, bulk powders and printed retail. The route to choose when you print the pack, run a freezer line, or want the clearest path to post-consumer recycled content.

Sustainability, straight
Both OPP and PE are mono-materials that fit household soft-plastic recycling streams, and PE offers the clearest path for PCR (post-consumer recycled) content integration.
We do not overstate this: if your brand needs a fully compostable route rather than a recyclable mono-material, see compostable and sustainable films rather than reading more into the recyclability here. Any exact recycled-content percentage for flow wrap is agreed individually once matched to the grade.

Start a Packaging Consultation
Tell us your product, your machine model and your pack format, and we confirm the right family, OPP or PE, before you order. Add your shelf-life target and any convenience features you need (anti-fog, perforation, freezer suitability) and we respond with a material specification and a sample pack where it helps, so you reach the correct film without guesswork.
