The films are produced and converted in house at the orfix and NJB facility in Maynooth, Ireland, with conversion and slitting carried out in house and production subject to strict quality tests, so quality, custom runs and supply stay in orfix hands.

Longest shelf-life in the range
PA/PE multilayer with an EVOH option for the highest oxygen barrier, for fresh and processed meat, cheese and fish.

A format for every cut
Side-seal for portioned cuts, round-bottom for large cuts, straight-bottom for block cheese, plus tapered and perforated-on-rolls.

A recyclable route
A mono-LDPE pouch removes the polyamide and opens the route to recycling. Qualification for the Blue Angel and the orfix GREEN LABEL is possible in principle, depending on product and application, and is reviewed individually.

Sustainability, straight
Multilayer vacuum and barrier bags deliver the longest shelf-life in the range, and multilayer structures are harder to recycle than mono-material films.
We are honest about that trade off and offer two steps forward. First, a fully recyclable LDPE vacuum pouch with a high oxygen barrier, excellent tear resistance and print options on request: it removes the polyamide, which is the change that opens the route to recycling. Second, post-consumer recycled content in selected structures where the application allows. For the recyclable LDPE pouch, qualification for the Blue Angel ecolabel and the orfix GREEN LABEL range is possible in principle, depending on product and application, and is reviewed individually.

At company level, orfix is certified to ISO 14001 for environmental management and uses green electricity in production, and selected product ranges carry the Blue Angel ecolabel. Whether a specific product line qualifies under these programmes and for the orfix GREEN LABEL is reviewed individually.

Start a Packaging Consultation
Vacuum and barrier bag selection is not a catalogue decision. It starts with product and shelf-life, machinery, convenience features and on-shelf presentation. We respond with a material specification, a sample pack where useful, and a barrier level that matches the product you are actually packing.
Frequently asked
Certified sustainable packaging is possible in principle, depending on the product line. Whether a specific film and application qualify for the Blue Angel or the orfix GREEN LABEL is reviewed individually.
