The films are produced and converted in house at the orfix and NJB facility in Maynooth, Ireland, and supplied to food manufacturers across Europe. OPP (oriented polypropylene, also written BOPP) carries one of the highest yields per kilogram among the common flow-wrap plastics. Primary fit is fruit and vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers, herbs), bakery, confectionery and snacks. Where print is the priority and the graphics need to be rich and durable, our PE flow wrap films are the printed default.

Clarity and gloss that sell
High clarity and gloss for strong on-shelf visibility of fresh produce and confectionery, with one of the highest yields per kilogram among the common flow-wrap plastics.

Anti-fog and perforation on demand
Optional anti-fog for chilled packs, micro-perforation for bakery shelf-life and macro-perforation for maximum airflow on respiring produce.

Mono-OPP, a recyclable route
A single-material structure that fits household soft-plastic recycling streams where they exist, with recycled-content grades possible depending on material and application.

Key features
- High clarity and gloss for strong on-shelf visibility of fresh produce and confectionery
- Anti-fog coating option for chilled bakery, fresh produce and cheese, keeping the pack clear under condensation
- Macro-perforation with visible holes for maximum airflow on respiring fruit and vegetables, where condensation is the main risk
- Both-sides heat-seal for reliable running on standard horizontal flow wrappers
- Plain, single-wound and centre-folded formats, plus pre-made bags
- Mono-OPP structure that fits household soft-plastic recycling streams where they exist, with recycled-content grades possible depending on material and application
- OPP gauges agreed individually, depending on product and application, with one of the highest yields per kilogram among the common flow-wrap plastics
- Micro-perforation with fine laser-cut holes for controlled gas exchange, extending bakery shelf-life and preserving print and barcode surfaces
- Pre-perforated rolls or perforation-roller compatible, which simplifies changeovers on multi-SKU runs
- MAP-ready: works with gas-flush (modified-atmosphere) workflows
- Pre-printed flexo or rotogravure available as an option, or plain clear stock (PE is the printed default)
Industries and applications

Fruit and vegetables
Micro-perforated OPP for tomatoes, cucumbers and herbs, with macro-perforation for higher-respiration produce. High clarity shows the produce and the film runs MAP-ready.

Bakery and confectionery
Clear, micro-perforated OPP for bread, rolls and pastries where the perforation keeps crusts crisp, and high-gloss OPP for chocolate, sweets and pralines where gloss sells the pack.

Snacks
OPP for biscuits, cookies, crackers and energy bars, where clarity and gloss are the on-shelf argument. Plain clear stock or pre-printed where the brand carries graphics.

Sustainability, straight
Mono-OPP is a single-material film that fits household soft-plastic recycling streams where those streams exist. Recycled content and certified solutions are possible in principle, depending on product, material and requirements, and we review each case individually.
BOPP produced from renewable sources such as used cooking oil can be supplied for brands moving towards bio-circular packaging. A biodegradable BOPP is available for short-shelf-life bakery and produce lines, with the degradation time confirmed on request.

We are candid about the trade off: where post-consumer recycled (PCR) integration or higher seal stress matters, PE is the clearer route, see PE flow wrap films. Where a brand prioritises compostability over recyclability, see compostable and sustainable films as a specialist option, not an equivalent to mainstream recyclable film.

At company level, orfix is certified to ISO 14001 for environmental management and uses green electricity in production, and selected product ranges carry the Blue Angel ecolabel. Whether a specific product line qualifies under these programmes and for the orfix GREEN LABEL is reviewed individually.

Start a Packaging Consultation
Tell us four things and we match the film to your line: your product and its shelf-life target, your machinery and format, the convenience features you need (anti-fog, micro- or macro-perforation) and how the pack should present on shelf. From there we respond with a material specification, a sample pack where it helps, and a conversion plan that fits the line.
